Longplayer was commissioned by Artangel and is in the care of The Longplayer Trust
The Longplayer Trust has established a relationship with Goldsmiths, University of London.
Longplayer and Goldsmiths Music Department have set up a working group and signed a memorandum of understanding between the university and the Longplayer Trust that will lead to a programme of activities being developed.
Among those being worked on with immediate effect are the housing of Longplayer’s archive, a listening post on the campus and Longplayer Day, an annual event to be held on the 21st June each year. Longplayer Day 2017 is already in the early stages of planning and details will be announced soon.
